Museum of the history of NArFU

The museum is aimed to preserve the history of universities which are now part of NArFU.

Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov was officially based on 8th of June 2010.

The University’s museum is a culture and education center It collects and preserves materials on universities’ past and Arctic research.

The first museum’s hall was opened to the public on 29th of April 2015. It was an exposition devoted to years of Patriotic War.

There are several halls devoted to famous people of the country and of the region like Mikhail Lomonosov, Oleg Sokolov, George Frumenkov, Ivan Bakhovkin, Anatoly Efremov, Valery Komarov, Anatoly Kuratov, Vladimir Bulatov and many others.

Students play an important role in the life of the museum. They organize open lectures, excursions and various workshops. The Scientific Library also enables students now to organize scientific conferences, round tables, meetings and film screening.
